Thank you for using Kyoto Eigo Mate services and products. The terms & conditions on this page explain the agreement (contract) between KEM and you, the user of KEM services or products. You automatically agree to fully accept KEM’s terms & conditions when you become a KEM member or a subscriber. Also, any of the follow things: visit KEM’s website or social media’s pages and purchase free services , users shall be deemed to have consented to the content of The terms & conditions upon their use of the site.
Class Length and Basic Environment
A teacher will send you a class reminder 5 minutes before the class. Each class is for 25 minutes and please set up the internet connection and the following equipment necessary for our service.

Payment Conditions
You may choose a monthly plan which is limited to a certain number of lessons and purchase by using credit card on our website. However sometimes the credit card company can charge you a fee for making an international transaction. This fee depends on your bank.

・Regarding the monthly plan, you need to use your time purchased within the month as time can not be carried over to the next month. So you can’t take a remaining class to the following month.
Lesson Conditions

- If you have electrical or technical problems from your side, KEM isn’t responsible if you miss a class or a part of a remaining class.
- If the teacher has technical difficulties/problems such as internet connection or power outage, we will surely compensate the class.
Students are responsible to check their scheduled classes in the online scheduling system. KEM is not responsible for incorrect booking time or dates. Scheduled times in the online scheduling system are in Japan time zone. (We highly recommend to follow JP time zone.)
A class reservation is required at least 30 minutes in advance. A class reservation is required maximum two classes in a day.
For 15 minutes late, teacher is still waiting for you to show up so you are still allowed to participate in the lesson half way through. If you are more than 15 minutes late for the class due to unforeseen circumstances, then it will be considered that you are absent.
All cancellations will be done at least 30 minutes notice prior to your class schedule. If you cancel with less than 30 minutes’ notice, then you’ll lose your paid- class.
If a teacher cancels the scheduled class due to the illness and other personal circumstances, please rebook an another class.
School’s Holiday
KEM observes the following national holidays in the Philippines (Holy week, Christmas, the New Year’s holiday etc.) The dates of the holidays might have some changes; KEM staff will give you a notification on our website.

You can bring in up to 1 guest at the same price. Reservation can be made up to 1 months in advance.

Prohibited Matter
Users will be prohibited to perform the following acts.
- (1) Rent, transfer a password to a third party or share a password with other party.
- (2) Any act resulting in slander and damage the reputation of KEM.
- (3) Breaking the law and any act deviate from public order and decent behavior.
- (4) The act of false information registration.
- (5) Act of any power and sexual harassment to bother the class sessions.
Based on the fact checking, the harassment behavior will be judged by us.

Governing Law
This agreement shall be governed by laws of Japan. With regard to all disputes arising from our service, the exclusive jurisdiction of the court of first instance should be in the district where our office is located.
Change the scope of this Agreement
We maintain the right to change, including addition and alteration its terms of use from time to time without the prior approval of our students and teachers. These changes will be immediately reflected on our website.
